The province of Koh Kong with its border with Thailand is located in the southwest of Cambodia.
After completion of the road and opening of the bridge in 2002, from and to Thailand’s border crossing, the province of Koh Kong and city have developed well.
The new, long-distance, scenic road (number 48) leads from the Koh Kong border crossing 12 kilometers over the first bridge to the city.
Outside the town of Koh Kong, the road leads for 11 kilometers to the small waterfall, on the edge of the cardamom mountains. Only 9 kilometers further on is at the second bridge the small village Tatai.
From Tatai we continue through a wonderful landscape in the Cardamom Mountains in Cambodia. Arriving at the next bridge is the village of Trapeang Rung with 4 small villages offering a homestay eco tourism.
At another bridge, the fourth from Thailand Koh Kong Cambodia border crossing, in Andong Teuck – Botum Sakor, there is the possibility to stopover and visit the village of Chi Phat with its adventure trekking tourism and accommodation with cheap places to stay in Koh Kong province.
After 80 kilometers comes the village of Sre Ambel, where the road joins the National Highway 4. That’s the route Phnom Penh – Sihanoukville.
After a few kilometers towards Sihanoukville, there is Pray Nob. From Pray Nob we continue to Kampot, Kep and to the border crossing Cambodia Vietnam to Ha Tien and to the island Phu Quoc in Vietnam.
There are still reports that the city and province have not much to offer.
